Hi All. There is a lot going on in Pet Travel at the moment and things are moving really fast.
Great News is Virgin have announced a whole list of new flights including services to Hobart and Launceston. Services to Hobart start on the 13th July and a week later to Launceston. There are also flights coming back for other Key Ports including Darwin, Newcastle and Mount Isa. For a full list of routes Virgin are flying please refer to their website – https://travel.virginaustralia.com/au/domestic-schedule. Note some of the Ports on the list do not have Cargo Agents and therefore Pets cannot be booked to from these Ports.
The other good news is Virgin have revised the list of Brachycephalic Breeds they do not accept and are now accepting more breeds. Please click here to view the breeds that are still not accepted – https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/plan/specific-needs-assistance/pets/
Qantas are also slowly increasing their flight schedule.
Just a reminder the minimum age for Pups and Kittens flying with Virgin is 8 weeks and with Qantas 12 weeks.
The second wave of COVID affecting Melbourne has resulted in some flight cancellations and if your booking is affected we will contact you soon.
On the International Front we are able to book Pets to most of the main Ports in Europe and Asia via either Dubai or Doha or Hong Kong but please get in quick as capacity is very limited. We can get some Pets to the USA via AKL and we are working with Qantas to get some bookings out on their occasional Cargo flights to LAX. We are shipping to AKL and CHC from SYD and AKL from MEL and BNE. Pets from other Parts of Australia can be shipped to NZ via Sydney.
