Update on Pet Shipping in Australia

Another unbelievable week and very sad to see our Friends at Virgin Australia go into Administration. Fingers crossed things can be sorted and the Big V continues to fly your Pets home for years to come.

Meanwhile Virgin’s “COVID schedule” of 64 flights a week is still operating and is proving very reliable. Ports we can get your Pets to on these flights are;

Adelaide, Brisbane, Broome, Cairns, Karratha, Kununurra, Newman, Mackay, Melbourne, Perth,  Port Hedland, Rockhampton, Sydney and Townsville. There are only 4 spaces available for Pets on each flight and some routes are already booked out for a couple of weeks so please get your bookings into us as soon as possible. Virgin accepts Pets at 8 weeks old with a Fit to Fly Certificate.

Qantas still has limited Cargo space available on flights between major Cities and some Regional Ports including Launceston. Because space is so limited priority is given to urgent Cargo such as Medical Supplies so we can only book Pets one day before departure. This is obviously frustrating for all concerned but if you are patient and flexible with dates we will be able to get your Pets on a Flight in most cases.

Please also note connectivity for Pets Transiting is very limited with so few flights available and overnight boarding has become the norm. A lot of Customers stress about this but really it should be the least of your worries, our Agents all have great Boarding Facilities ( a couple of them even take your Pets back to their Homes) and many years experience looking after Pets in Transit.  They have areas where Pups & Kittens can be kept separate from other Pets.
